Boat, Kayak, shore based all $25 per angler (includes dinner)


To make this tournament as versatile as possible the Calamari Classic will be made up of 3 sections; Boat, Kayak and Shore based.

Boat - an imaginary line from the tip of North Mole to the northern most Northern tip of Garden Island Boats are not permitted to venture under and beyond the Garden Island Causeway.

Yaks - Same Boundaries apply as for boats. Yaks may also be launched from outside the Fremantle Sailing Club complex after signing in and briefing.

Shore Based - Shore Based anglers can only fish as individuals and may fish from any legal rock platform, jetty or beach between North Mole and the Garden Island Causeway. Shore based anglers are not permitted to fish anywhere on Garden Island.



Boat- Boats may fish a team of as many individual anglers as legally permitted for the size of the boat. Each angler may only enter 1 heaviest squid at the weigh in.

Yaks- 1 heaviest squid only may be weighed in by a single angler.

Shore Based- 1 heaviest squid only may be weighed in by a single angler from shore.

Junior Anglers: 12 years of age & under.


There will be prizes awarded for the following categories.




Random Prizes – There will be plenty of random prizes given away on the day.

Photos comp, in conjunction with our media partner, Western Angler Magazine, we will be running a photo comp at this year’s event. All competitors will be eligible to submit their photo that was taken on the day.

All entries will appear on the Western Angler website where the public get to vote. Then winners will have their photos appear in the western Angler Magazine.
